The Machu Picchu archeological site in the region of Cusco in Peru is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. After a short period of closure due to political turmoil, we’re ecstatic to announce that Machu Picchu is now open again! With a Machu Picchu entrance ticket, you’ll be able to see the entire Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, including more than 150 structures from temples and agricultural terraces to residential areas and aqueducts as well as areas that continue to remain a huge mystery. In fact, Machu Picchu tours attract millions of visitors to Peru each year.
How Much Will a Machu Picchu Ticket Cost in 2024?
As of Jan. 1st, 2024 (less than a year away), the Machu Picchu ticket price is increasing from S/.152.00 (152 soles) for a standard adult ticket to S/.172.00 (172 soles). This change was officially announced by the Ministry of Culture in Peru on January 31st of this year in Ministry Resolution #000047-2023-MC, which increases pricing for entrance tickets of archeological sites and museums all across the country (not just Machu Picchu).
Here are the official changes to Machu Picchu ticket pricing coming up next year:

For student pricing: You need to be younger than 26 years old and have a valid identification card from your university or institute. The identification card must show the following:
- Information about the university
- Information about the student
- Photo of the student
- Expiry date no later than 1 year in relation to the date of the Machu Picchu ticket
For child pricing: You need to have some kind of identification (such as a passport) showing the child’s birthdate.
