You can’t visit Peru without visiting Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Luckily, you can still fit in a Machu Picchu tour even if you’re super tight on time – all you need is one full day. Take into account that it’s a bit of a trek to get to the Machu Picchu ruins:
- You arrive at the Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima where all international flights will land.
- From there, you need to take a short flight from Lima to Cusco, the city with the closest airport to Machu Picchu.
- Our tour starts in Cusco where we’ll take you to Aguas Calientes (the closest town to Machu Picchu).
- From Aguas Calientes, we’ll take a bus up to the Machu Picchu archeological site together.
We can fit all of that in a day, including a full, unhurried Machu Picchu tour of the archeological site and transport back to Cusco. The entire Machu Picchu One-Day Tour will take the whole day starting with an early morning pickup at 3am to beat the crowds, then getting back to Cusco at night the same day.
Leaving that extra few hours earlier than other Machu Picchu tours can make all the difference. Imagine a peaceful start to the tour without the buzz of hordes of tourists either hustling you forward or passing you. You’ll also have the opportunity to take uninterrupted photos.
