On February 15th, 2025, a team of six from Orphan Outreach spent a meaningful day at Jóvenes Con Propósito (JCP) in Cusco, Peru. It was a day filled with learning, connection, and inspiration as the group experienced the incredible work JCP is doing to support local youth.
A Mission to Empower Young People
JCP—which translates to “Youth With Purpose” in English—is a nonprofit organization in Cusco that provides education, job training, and mentorship to help orphaned young people build a brighter future. Their mission is further supported by Peru Travel With Purpose who share the same vision to ensure orphaned youth receive the opportunities they need to succeed.
A Day at JCP
The Orphan Outreach team was warmly welcomed by the JCP staff and the young people whose lives have been impacted by the program. Throughout the day, the volunteers joined in various activities, learning about JCP’s initiatives and hearing inspiring personal stories from the youth.
Seeing the impact of JCP firsthand reinforced the importance of organizations like Orphan Outreach, which serves vulnerable children and youth across the globe.
A Special Meal at El Pollo Inka
One of the highlights of the visit was lunch at El Pollo Inka, a local restaurant run under JCP’s umbrella. This isn’t just a place to enjoy great food—it’s also a hands-on training ground where young people gain real-world work experience in the food and hospitality industry.
Over delicious plates of Peruvian-style roasted chicken, the team and JCP shared meaningful conversations, learning more about each other’s lives, dreams, and aspirations.
